First day of DW tournament play went very well. The squad went 3-1 for the day, starting with a slow start against Northwestern and ending with an intense blowout of UChicago.
Play started at 8:30 in the morning against section rival NUT from Northwestern University. Play was strong from both sides, with the two teams trading points for the first few. However, NUT began to pull away due to some execution mistakes and timid defense on the part of DW and won the game 13-5.
The team then went on to play Wisconsin B. From start to finish, Darkwing dominated on both sides of the disk. The game ended in a DW 13-1 victory.
The team went on to face off with Ohio-Wesleyan. Wesleyan got off to a quick start and went up 3-0. Finally, Darkwing scored an offensive point and kept going with three breakpoints in a row. The teams continued to trade points for most of the game, but the game finished off with a DW 13-11 victory.
The last game of the day was a crossover against Uchicago-X. Darkwing came out strong and won the game 13-5.
